Abstract
This article providesan analysis ab out the presence of food in Candombl rituals basedon a study of off erings for African deities Understanding the sociability relations present between food the orix andtheCommunity are the central point ofthiswork which presents a reflectionon studies on food andreligion as well as ananalysis about the kitchen of the orix s seeking to underst and the dynamics of this space during the realizationofe offerings The study analyzed the relationship between food andcandombl ritualsfromthe perspective oftheorists Marcel Maus andNestor Garc a Canclini who withtheir concepts of Gift and Cultural Hybridism contributed to the reflection of the proposed theme
