Abstract
This work studies the politics of anti-graft wars and economic recoveries in Nigeria s Fourth Republic The paper underpins the problem of Nigeria s development specifically on the seemingly intractable challenge of corruption It thus holds on to the fact that economic recoveries especially those from corruption proceeds can help reposition the Nigerian economy The paper also pays attention to the setbacks bedeviling the various anti-graft agencies and how they have affected the process of economic recoveries within the Nigerian State Relying on secondary sources of data the paper recommends amongst others that section 80 of the constitution should be amended to limit the powers and control of the Federal Government over public funds This will ultimately reduce the interest and values placed on public offices which have encouraged corruption over time
