Abstract

Thanks to the detailled eritings of several memoriales Respuestas Particulares in the elaboration od the Catastro del Marqu s de la Ensenada we have the dimensions of several of the rooms of the houses of Burgos in the mid-eighteenth century In addition we have a global reconstruction of the size of the properties of this Castilian city Although they are mostly limited to the less fortunate socio-professional categories and with reduced income and fortune levels it is in practice an approach to the ways of living in the houses of the Old Regime
